Maybe we once ate tokhm sharbati syrup in different ceremonies as a sacrificial syrup, and its pleasant taste is imprinted in all of our minds.
Tokhme sharbati syrup is one of the easiest syrups that we can prepare at home. The basil seed is a carob plant that grows in deserts and mountains in early spring.
Because it can be felt under the teeth and the pleasant glazed state that it has by absorbing a lot of water, the basil seed can be one of the suitable options for a hot summer afternoon.
Because of the properties of Basil seeds, it has many benefits for the body, including reducing stomach and digestive pains, slimming, and weight loss, calming the nerves, and being good for the mouth and teeth, treating high blood pressure, and being good for the skin and hair.

1. Tokhme Sharbati syrup with saffron
Using basil seeds and saffron in a syrup gives it a very delicious taste. You can use this syrup to entertain guests or drink a glass of it to prevent heatstroke in the summer season.
Ingredients:
| Saffron | 1 teaspoon |
| Sugar | 2 glasses |
| Basil seed | 2 tablespoons |
| Rose water | 1/2 glass |
| Water | 2 glasses |
Instruction:
1. Soaking basil seeds in syrup
In the first step of how to prepare tokhme sharbati with Persian Saffron Syrup, pour the basil seeds into a glass. Add a little warm water to it and soak it for 1 hour until its volume doubles.
2. Preparing saffron
At this stage, you should pour the saffron into the grinders and grind it completely. Then pour them into a glass and add some boiling water to it. After the saffron is mixed with boiling water, add an ice cube to it and place a saucer on the glass until the saffron is completely colored.
3. Boil water and sugar
At this stage, you should pour sugar and water into a pot. Then put the pot on the gas with gentle heat. Allow the sugar to slowly dissolve in the water and boil for 30-40 minutes until completely thickened.
4. Add other ingredients
After the syrup has thickened, in this step, you should add saffron to the nectar and mix the ingredients well. Let the syrup boil for another 20 minutes until ready.
5. Making syrup:
After the syrup boils, in the last step, you should turn off the gas flame and let the syrup cool down. Then pour 1 tablespoon of saffron sherbet into a glass. If you want, add some ice cubes and fill the rest of the glass with cold water.
6. At the end, add the tokhme sharbati and mix the syrup well. Now you can enjoy this delicious syrup. You can use some freshly chopped mint to decorate it.
2. Tokhme Sharbati syrup with bahar Narenj
To prepare Basil seed syrup with Sharbate Bahar Narenj, soak basil seeds in the size of half a glass and wash them several times until the soil is removed.
Then mix with the above-mentioned bahar narenj ingredients and add a little honey instead of sugar, the size of a tablespoon. Mix all the ingredients and put it in the refrigerator to cool.
3. Tokhmeh Sharbati with Bidmeshk and saffron syrup
Ingredients:
| Aragh bidmeshk | 2 glasses |
| Water | 1 glasses |
| Sugar | 4 cups |
| Basil seeds | 1 tablespoon |
| Thick brewed saffron | 2 tablespoons (optional) |
Instruction:
To prepare this syrup with basil seeds, you must first boil water and sugar together. Then add saffron. When you want to make Bidmeshk Syrup, add washed and prepared basil seeds to the syrup base.
1. Heat water and sugar
In the first step pour water and sugar into a suitable pot and put it on the heat. Wait for the water to heat up and the sugar grains to dissolve in it. In the meantime, clean the basil seeds pour in a glass of water, and wash. Add some warm water to them to make them puff up.
2. Add saffron
After the water and sugar are as thick as you like, add the brewed saffron to the ingredients. Let the syrup color. Then turn off the heat and wait until the syrup loses its temperature and cools down. After the syrup cools down, add bidmeshk juice to the ingredients and stir.
How to wash basil seeds
To wash the basil seeds, fill a large bowl with water and pour the basil seeds into it. So that the basil seeds do not stick together, stir them with a fork until they settle down slowly.
Wait for a while until the seeds come to the surface of the water and remove them.
Change this water several times until the water is clean and there is nothing left in it. Then, at this stage, we slowly stir the basil seeds and transfer them to another bowl so that the sand and pebbles of the basil seeds remain in the first bowl.
To make sure it is completely cleaned and there are no other sand and pebbles, repeat this several times. The only thing you need to pay attention to is that these steps should be done quickly, but carefully and slowly, and finished before the basil seeds become glazed.
